RDC Nepal in support of Penny Appeal implemented “Shallow Tube-Well for safe water access to marginalized communities of Rautahat, Siraha and Mahottari districts of Madhesh Province, Nepal. Through the project, vulnerable families will be supported with shallow tube-wells which will fulfill their basic need of water. The project will ease the daily life of those vulnerable people who used to struggle for sufficient pure drinking water. Moreover, knowledge enhancement on hygiene and sanitation within the vulnerable groups will assist for the development of healthy habits that will automatically lead to a convenient life.
Key Achievements:
- Tube-wells have been installed among 250 HHs in Siraha, Mahottari and Rautahat.
- 50 hygiene promotion sessions in the target communities on personal hygiene, safe drinking water, clean toilet use, food hygiene, environmental sanitation and operation and maintenance were completed.
- The project has addressed the need of safe water of the most deserving families for their better health, safety and protection.
- Vulnerable families have improved their personal hygiene.
