Health Camp and Diagnosis Initiated by RDC Nepal in Yamunamai Rural Municipality, Rautahat. 

A Two-day free health camp was organized by RDC Nepal in collaboration with Qatar Charity Nepal on 22 and 23 August 2025 at Yamunamai Rural Municipality, ward 3.

The objective of the camp was to provide accessible healthcare services, raise awareness about preventive health, and support underprivileged communities with medical assistance.

Objectives of the Health Camp

  • Provide free medical consultation and basic health check-ups.
  • Raise awareness about hygiene, nutrition, maternal and child health, and preventive measures.
  • Identify and refer critical cases to higher medical institutions.
  • Distribute free medicines to patients in need.

Activities Conducted

  • Registration Desk: Patients were registered and given ID numbers.
  • General Check-up: Blood pressure, weight, sugar levels, and general health assessments.
  • Specialist Consultation: Doctors from different specialties (general physician, pediatrician, gynecologist, etc.) provided consultations.
  • Health Awareness Sessions: Interactive discussions on hygiene, family planning, and nutrition.
  • Distribution of Medicines: Free essential medicines were distributed after consultations.

Participation and Beneficiaries

  • Total Participants: 380 community members.
  • Male: 99 Female: 281
  • Diagnosis Cases : Lab tests – 60 , USG – 103, ECG – 16 

Key Outcomes

  • Increased awareness of preventive health measures.
  • Early detection of common illnesses (hypertension, diabetes, malnutrition, etc.).
  • Strengthened community trust in healthcare services.
  • Identified gaps in healthcare access that require long-term intervention.

Challenges Faced

  • Limited time to cater to all patients.
  • Inadequate resources for advanced diagnostics.
  • Need for continuous follow-up for referred patients.

Recommendations

  • Organize regular follow-up health camps.
  • Increase outreach and publicity to cover more beneficiaries.
  • Strengthen partnerships with local health posts and hospitals.
  • Provide additional facilities like eye check-ups, dental care, and laboratory tests.

Conclusion

The health camp was successful in reaching out to marginalized communities, addressing their immediate health needs, and raising awareness about preventive health. With greater support and resources, such initiatives can be scaled up to create long-term impact in improving community health.
